Feature Overview
In myBillBook, you can easily add or edit units of measurement for products to streamline inventory management and billing. Units help define the quantity of items (e.g., kilograms, liters, pieces) for invoices and stock tracking. While primary units are fixed after usage in invoices or stock adjustments, you can add alternate units for flexibility.
This feature helps businesses:
Maintain accurate inventory records.
Handle items sold or purchased in multiple units (e.g., box to pieces).
Ensure precise billing and stock management
Business Use Cases
Retail Stores: Manage items sold in boxes and pieces (e.g., 1 Box of chocolates = 12 units).
Wholesale Traders: Track inventory in bulk units like cartons and convert them to individual units.
Manufacturers: Use alternate units for raw materials (e.g., 1 Bag = 50 Kg).
Grocery Stores: Handle items sold by weight (e.g., kilograms and grams)
Step-by-Step Guide to Add/Edit Units of an Item
1. Access the Item Dashboard
Open myBillBook on your device.
Go to the Items section from the dashboard.
2. Select the Item
Scroll through your item list or use the search bar to find the desired item.
Tap on the Edit Item icon (pencil icon) located in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Modify Units
Tap on the Units option.
Here, you can view or modify the item's unit settings:
Primary Unit:
Note: The primary unit cannot be modified if the item has already been used in invoices or stock adjustments.
To change it, you must delete the item and create a new identical item with the desired unit.
Alternate Unit:
Tap on β+ Alternate Unitβ to add an alternative unit.
Select the desired alternate unit and set the conversion ratio (e.g., 1 Box = 10 Pieces).
4. Save Changes
Once units are updated, tap Save to apply the changes.
