The Serial Summary Report in myBillBook provides comprehensive tracking capabilities for serialized items in your inventory. This feature is particularly valuable for businesses dealing with electronics, machinery, or pharmaceuticals where each product unit has a unique serial number. The report helps maintain accountability, ensures GST compliance, and streamlines after-sales service by providing detailed tracking of item movement and history.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Navigate to Reports:

    • Click on the Reports dropdown in the Items page

    • Select "Serial Report" (or your custom field name)

    • Note: The report name will match your custom field name from Item Settings

  2. Search and Filter Options:

    • Use the Item Search Bar to select specific products

    • Search by serial numbers using the dedicated search field

    • Filter by date range (available for sold items)

    • Select transaction types (sales, purchase, returns)

  3. Understanding the Report Sections

    • Sold Items Tab

      • View details including:

        • Date Created

        • Serial Number

        • Invoice Number (clickable to view PDF)

        • Invoice Date

        • Transaction Status

        • Price (Sold Price)

    • Unsold Items Tab

      • View details including:

        • Stock Quantity

        • Stock Value

        • Sales Price

        • Purchase Price

        • Item-specific details (Date Created, Serial Number, Transaction Status)
